About Us
We are a dynamic group of teachers committed to the highest standards of professionalism and excellence. We provide quality music education and strive to promote the love and pursuit of music within our communities. To that end, we offer our members opportunities for student performances, networking with colleagues and participation in the State’s Music Achievement Program (MAP) curriculum, as well as competitions and other programs sponsored by the State and National organizations.
We were formed in 1974 when it was clear that CSMTA needed representation in the South-eastern portion of Connecticut. Our first meeting was held in April of that year and we have continued to grow from that point. We now offer a range of recitals throughout the year – from very informal seasonal and “popular” recitals to the Honors Recital presented each spring. Our monthly meetings include musical and academic presentations and there are also several social events for members during the course of the year.
Members of our chapter come from Ivoryton, New London, Waterford, Norwich, Old Saybrook, Clinton, and all points in between.
